Revolution Mill Greensboro Wedding: Mike & Rose

Mike and Rose were married on a lovely day at the end of April using every inch of The Colonnade’s indoor and outdoor spaces to make their day effortlessly beautiful. We loved the simplistic elegance that was incorporated throughout the wedding day that kept all areas in harmony with added touches of their fun personality throughout!

The Venue

When Mike and Rose decided that Revolution Mill Events was the perfect place to start the next chapter in their love story, they saved their day for April and began the long-distance planning process from Chicago, IL. Alongside our amazing planning team and their wedding coordinator, they created their dream event! Knowing they wanted to incorporate as much of The Colonnade as they could, they set out to use the space to its full potential and feature as many of the historic design elements as possible!

The Ceremony

Choosing the courtyard area of The Colonnade to say “I do”, Mike and Rose exchanged their vows amongst the greenery and climbing elegant floral arrangements on each column. Mixing the greenery with the stunning neutral color palette, their design exuded elegance and classic beauty. Surrounded by friends and family, they committed to their new forever!

The Reception

As guests made their way to cocktail hour, they enjoyed a full bar including Guinness beer which paid homage to their family heritage paired with Gruyere Tarts, Bacon Wrapped Sweet Potatoes and Cheddar Biscuits with apple and ham. Keeping with the color palette from the outdoor ceremony, the decor for the reception area was effortlessly elegant with greenery and neutral tones along with a few dramatic metallic accents sprinkled throughout. Note the giant disco balls! After an upbeat wedding party entry and lovely plated dinner, Rose and Mike danced the night away with their friends and family!

The Menu

Our Pepper Moon Catering chefs prepared this savory plated dinner selected by Mike & Rose:

  • Artisan Greens with Watermelon Cubes, Pickled Red Onion, Feta and Homemade Key Lime Vinaigrette

  • Caprese Chicken

  • Grilled London Broil with Fire-roasted Onion and Brandy Sauce

  • Oven Roasted Vegetables

  • Rosemary Roasted Baby Potatoes

The pair surprised their guests with a Late Night Snack of Jar-B-Q. What is Jar-B-Q?? Our culinary team served up our 8-hour slow-roasted pulled pork layered with traditional fixings like baked beans, shredded gourmet slaw over North Carolina cornbread. This taste of the south is served in a mini mason jar, garnished with a skewered pickled okra and barbeque sauce drizzle.
