Revolution Mill Greensboro Wedding: Paige and Nathan

Paige and Nathan had a gorgeous indoor wedding ceremony at The Colonnade at Revolution Mill in Greensboro this past Winter on December 16, 2018.

The Wedding Day

“Our wedding day was perfect! It was cold and raining the day before at our rehearsal and we were really worried our wedding day would be gloomy. However, we woke up the morning of our wedding to the sun shining and barely a cloud in the sky! The rest of the day continued on without a hitch. Everything was going right on schedule if not a little ahead and everyone was super excited for the day ahead. All of our closest friends and family were there to help us celebrate our marriage. Every detail that we had meticulously planned for months came together better than anything we could have imagined.”

Why the Colonnade?

“The overall feel of the venue drew us to The Colonnade. We loved the old wood floors and exposed beams the venue had. We also really liked the way the space was laid out. We wanted a venue that had everything in one place so our guests weren’t having to travel between ceremony and reception. We had looked into other venues but The Colonnade was the first venue we toured and we fell in love so our search for a venue stopped there.” - Paige, Bride

The Venue

The couple’s favorite memory of Revolution Mill?

“Our favorite thing about working with Revolution Mill Events was how accommodating the staff was during the planning process and on the day of our wedding. They went above and beyond to make sure our wedding dreams became a reality. Jaime sat through multiple meetings with us to talk all things wedding detail related. She even changed our whole menu after our original planning meeting when we went from a buffet style meal to a sit down meal. She also customized our meals based on the taste testing event Pepper Moon Catering put on that Nathan attended. Jaime endured the countless changes we made to our contract and always answered her phone or email promptly. On the day of our wedding the staff made sure the bridal suite and the groomsmen suite had everything they needed from food to drinks to tissues. They even brought us an appetizer plate when we were taking pictures during cocktail hour. The staff worked super hard to make sure we were happy and were all super nice and helpful.” - Paige and Nathan, Bride and Groom

“I would say our wedding “cake” was the most unique element of our wedding day. We strayed away from the traditional white tiered cake and decided to have different flavors of cheesecake from our favorite Greensboro cheesecake bakery, Cheesecakes by Alex. Nathan and I are not huge cake people as it is and we both discovered we loved cheesecake early on in our relationship so it was always our go to dessert. And what better way to honor that tradition than have cheesecake at our wedding!” - Paige, Bride

Advice from the Bride

One piece of advice I would give to couples planning their wedding is to allow enough time off work before the day of the wedding to make sure everything is together and all the boxes are checked off. I work night shift as a nurse and I worked up until the Thursday night before my Sunday wedding and I felt so out of the loop on my vendors and all our decorations and I felt rushed to get everything together and make sure I had everything I needed.” - Paige, Bride
